UNITY OF THE FAITH & SPIRIT

I have noticed that fellow believers can write you off quickly, label you a devil, a false prophet, The antiChrist, and one who is fallen away from the faith if you have a different doctrinal viewpoint from them.

Some of the favorite doctrines such as the Trinity, Oneness, whether to sprinkle, whether to immerse, or not have water baptism at all, the coming of Jesus, the rapture, the battle of Armageddon, Israel being God's chosen people, the temple being rebuilt in Jerusalem, and who the antichrist is and if he is alive today. That is to name just a few.

You do know that your salvation does not depend on whether you correctly understand bibical theology, hermeneutics, expository preaching, dispensationalism, the trinity, and theories of the end times so called.

So, what is important or foundational to the Christian faith?

1. Jesus was born of a virgin. 2. Jesus lived, was crucified, dead, buried, resurrected, and ascended. 3. Jesus was the son of God, the Christ, the Messiah, and God incarnate. 4. Jesus, after his ascension sent the Holy Ghost to live in us baptizing us into his body and filling us with power with many speaking in other tongues. 5. The blood is sufficient for your salvation. 6. We are saved by grace through faith only, without the works of the law. 7. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to God except through Christ and that the spirit draw him. 8. While we were yet sinners and enemies of the cross, Christ loved us and died for us. None can boast, not even one. 9. No man can be saved except God impute repentance, faith, righteousness, and holiness to him. 10. Christ is the end of the curse and the law for all who believe.

We can have UNITY OF THE FAITH AND SPIRIT if we have some simple foundational principles that we understand to be irrefutable and unchangeable. The rest of the things that folks argue about, both men and women have taken a single doctrine and have built churches on their so-called principles which are not principals at all. The world will know that we are disciples of Jesus by the LOVE we have for one another. So it is imperative that we stop bickering, blaspheming one another, name-calling, and generally making division because someone sees things different from you that are not foundational. In fact, if one were to listen, one might just learn some new things about God that are deeper in character and scope then they ever thought possible. Strive, therefore, for the UNITY OF THE SPIRIT AND FAITH!
